US Housing Starts is the number of new house construction begun during a particular period, used as an indicator of economic conditions. Sept-12 data for US came at 872k which is 2.5years high. It peaked in Jan 2006 when the number was near to 2.273million. Since then it has been receding and now near to moderation. An article in Reuters mentions that every single home employs 3 individual. The Sept-12 number is positive but one need to keep in mind that House building now (Sept-12) makes up only 2% of the economy so it is unlikely to fuel a big acceleration.
